We had big plans to get out on Lake Lafayette today. Eric and Nina brought Eric's boat over this afternoon, we launched it, were in the water long enough to see a giant gator in front of our house, and snap a few pictures. We then realized that despite the giant cutters that have been out on the lake the past few months, we were completely hemmed in by tussocks & grass. With no clear path to the larger part of the lake, we had to turn around and get off the lake.
Trapped out in front of the house. Cue Debbie Downer music.
Instead of letting some stupid floating grass islands ruin our day, we loaded up and headed out to Lake Jackson, where we spent a few glorious hours on the water. Completely gorgeous and peaceful.
Can't wait to get back out on the water again soon!

is that really you??? I thought you ditched this blog? I like the pics.

WOW! Those lilypads look like stained glass. I've never seen such a thing. It's lovely.

What a beautiful lake! I love your short hair btw, I keep inching my long locks shorter and shorter, but haven't made the leap to get it above my shoulders. You've just inspired me:)

Gorgeous shot of the weeds! Even if they did make getting back in a hassle.
