I am the sweatiest person alive. Truly. I cannot stop sweating. It all started with that injection I got Monday when I had to go to Urgent Care.
Oh, wait, did I forget to mention that in my 3rd week of my new job, I came down with a "minor cold"? That four days later was bronchitis? A case so bad I was initially told it was pneumonia? And that I was shot up with steroids and antibiotics and have been pumped full of various other medications for the past several days? And all I want to do is sleep? And that walking from the couch to the kitchen sink winds me? And that my chest and back and EVERYTHING hurts?
Yeah. I start a new job, randomly catch some lung funk IN THE MIDDLE OF JUNE, and you know, make an AWESOME impression with the new work situation.
THAT IS HOW I ROLL, PEOPLE.
Luckily, the folks I work for now are incredible, amazing, saintly, wondrous beings who shared a message of hope and joy with me. It went a little something like "For the love of all things holy, please please please please go home and stay there until you are well. Do not share your lung funk. We like you. We want you to work here, We aren't going to can your sorry sick ass. Use your fabulous new insurance and your sick time. That is what it is for. It's all good, homie."
Or, you know, something to that effect.
Anyone know where I can get a good immune system on the cheap? SO ANNOYED WITH THE GETTING SICK.
Back to the sweat. I am constantly hot, and so sweaty, and I do not know why. I do not understand this. Nurse-y knitty people out there, am I sweating because of all the crap I am taking? Is this why? Would a combination of 875 mg of Augmentin twice a day plus some lovely Tessalon Perles, a dose of Duratuss before bed and some Sudafed/Theraflu type stuff scattered throughout the day make me sweat like I am traipsing through the rainforest? I swear to you people, I have the AC set on 65, a fan blowing directly on me, I am wearing a tanktop and some short shorts, eating a popsicle and STILL I AM SWEATING. STILL.
Hey, you know what goes great with sweat and the inability to regulate your internal thermometer? KNITTING WITH WOOL.
Even better? DOUBLE STRAND THAT WOOL.
Pattern: None, really. Just a top down raglan, kid/toddler sized....I hope.
Yarn: Cascade 220 held doubled
Needles: US size 10 Denise's
I made this to a.) bust some stash and b.) donate for my LYS' Afghans for Afghans drive. It was a great project to just zone out and work on, mindless stockinette in the round, once those increases were done. I love top down sweaters. This one turned out super cute, very green, and soft & fuzzy after I gave it a bit of a rinse.
I've got other a4A projects I'm working on, like the Tomten, which is fully knit. It just needs to be seamed, and I need to put in the zipper. I'm hoping to get to it this weekend, you know, if I don't drown in my own sweat first.
