Wheeeee! I never thought I'd say this, but I am SO HAPPY to be back at work. Being back at work means I am doing productive things! I am making money! I am working hard!
My notary stamp was delivered to my office while I was out sick. It was sitting on my desk when I came in this morning. How thrilling! Lookit! It's MY NAME with an OFFICIAL SEAL! Cool! I stamped a piece of paper right away. STAMP! Then I stamped my desk calender. STAMP! Hey, this is an officially notarized piece of scratch paper. STAMP! I'm gonna start leaving notes for B and notarizing them.
"Dear B, please unload the dishwasher and put away the laundry. Also, the dog needs to be walked, and please stop leaving dirty socks on top of the hamper, just put them IN the hamper already, wouldja? Love, S."
STAMP!
I'm also still taking muscle relaxers, which make me a little TOO happy. Not that you could tell or anything, right??
Anyhow, I've been SUCH a good girl, adhering to my Summer of Socks rules, you'd be so proud of me! I haven't bought ANY YARN. None. Nada. Zip. Zero. Zilch. (Oh wait...there was one skein of STR. But, that was a special circumstance, exempt from my self-imposed rules.)
Sooo....on Friday, I told myself I could have a special treat since I had been having, to put it very mildly, a bad week. It wasn't like I could hop in the car and take myself out for lunch and a pedicure. Nope. I was stuck at home, high as a kite on various prescriptions that were supposed to help me feel better, and all alone. WITH INTERNET ACCESS.
I tried to hold back. I did. Really. I allowed myself to get a few things, and then made myself stop.
That didn't keep my from window shopping though.
HA HA..WINDOW shopping! On my computer! GET IT? WINDOW? Computer?? WINDOW SHOPPING! HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Ahem.
I browsed and browsed, the combination of the drugs and the pretty colors on my screen lulling me into a state of peace. I was in a joyful, happy, pain-free place. Everything was SO PRETTY! And SUCH A GREAT BARGAIN! Dude, it's a good thing I didn't have my stamp then, I may have STAMP-STAMP-STAMPED my monitor into oblivion.
Needless to say, I found LOTS of things I loooooooved. I may or may not have made a few MORE purchases. I'm not telling, but I will share some of my current yarny loves and other mad crushes with you.
Talon, by one of my favoritefavoritefavorite dyers in the whole universe
Someone fell down and had a little "accident" at Woolgirl. It might have been me.
I heart The Loopy Ewe. I love it even more now that I know about this.
Is this love that I'm feelin'?
While I'm not crazy about the photos, I'm diggin' the new free sock patterns that are the Staff Projects for the Fall '07 IK.
The colors! THE COLORS! Drooooool.
Love the way she dyes.
Pentel R.S.V.P. pens, in black, with a fine point.
I think I mentioned my love for these before, but this weekend I discovered these. SO YUMMY. And just a few fill you up. Add a nice salad, and you've got a quick, easy, delicious meal.
I just watched this movie for the first time ever over the weekend. I'm going to watch it again. I cannot believe I missed this for so long. Even B loved it.
Neapolitan ice cream, in a teeny little cone. I had one of these last night, and it was so delicious. I felt like I was about 8 years old again, eating Neapolitan ice cream and running through the sprinklers in the backyard at my grandparents house. What a great summer memory.
Hope you are having a wonderful Monday!
