Y'all, I have HAD IT with these frequent back and forth trips to Florida's Emerald Coast. I had to make a day trip yesterday for a meeting, and I am wiped out. I know, I know...whine, whine, whine. After nearly being run off the road twice by impatient and inattentive big rig drivers and being honked at to move out of the way because I was ONLY going 90 in the fast lane, I'm over this drive. Hate it.
Yesterday wasn't a total loss though. I did manage to work in some lyrics from "Little Red Corvette" during my business meeting, which made up for dealing with my commute issues. No one even noticed. I am kind of ashamed to admit I sat there thinking really hard about what other inappropriate song lyrics I could work into my meeting for about two hours. Really though, I WAS productive after that. Promise.
When I got home, I had a screaming fight with my cable provider, who, to make a VERY long, unpleasant story short, screwed something up and SHUT OFF MY CABLE the night of the Lost season finale. The funny thing? They only shut off the cable at the outlet downstairs, so my cable upstairs still works. Idiots. I was able to watch Lost, which means I didn't have to go to the cable company and cause anyone bodily harm. YAY! Oh, Lost, how I love thee, with your jacked up mysteries and freaky plot twists. And Sawyer. Can't forget him.
Also? I made this:
I decoupaged a paper box with yarn labels and ball bands I had lying around. I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out, it was a quick project and will be perfect to hold some of my knitting notions. I can tell you what project I used every single yarn represented on the box for, and looking at all these labels and bands brings back happy knitting memories. The inside of the box was covered with some scrapbook paper I had bought as a Project Spectrum inspiration, as was the top of the lid. The side of the lid are covered in green and pink yarn.
I added some stuff to my inspiration board in my craft closet last night as well.
I love peacocks right now. And Goldfrapp. I've got two of these bulletin boards in my little craft room and they are fabulous for displaying colors, pictures, fabric swatches, etc. that inspire me in my crafting.
ETA:
Knitty surprises are up, but the site appears to be down right now....

I made a comment earlier and then spazzed and forgot to put in the secret wavy letters before closing out. Oops. I was writing to say I loved the inspired bit of decoupage. It's genius.
Also, sorry for not responding to your email, but I figgerd I'd go ahead and just blog about how I was doing since so many people were writing me about it. Hope you don't feel blown off...Thanks!!
