By the power of Greyskull....
It is finished.
THANK GOD IT IS DONE.
This pattern is SO great. Simple with gorgeous results. Also? It has been TEDIOUS for me because of my short attention span, and my perfectionism. You don't even wanna know how many times I ripped this thing out. All in all, I am pretty pleased with the final results. I used much less yarn, and spent fewer hours working on this once I made some minor adjustments to the overall width. I think my cousin is going to love it. The DB Alpaca Silk held up extremely well considering all the frogging I did on this project (remember when it looked like this? That was the first of it's, oh, 5 incarnations.) I was worried the yarn was cursed, but no....finally, FINALLY I HAVE TRIUMPHED.
Look at it again....because I said so....and because this pic is more true to color/doesn't make my carpet look like it has some jacked up green tint.
Next up? Finishing the multi-directional scarf while watching Lost this evening. From there? All Jaywalkers, all the time. I am thinking joining the KAL was a wise move for me, as Cara is really, really inspiring and so damn passionate about these socks. She makes me feel like I CAN make socks. And the pattern? AWESOME. You should go cast on for some right now. It's really simple, and they knit up super fast, and you see results right away. Now, if only I could get my hands on some Socks That Rock....shit. I think this may be a problem...sock yarn may become my new addiction.
It's 38 degrees here and forecasted to be colder tonight. Everyone at work is bundled up like they are living on the frozen tundra. Me? I've got a fan blowing on me, am wearing jeans and a lightweight cardigan, and these:
Bring on the cold. I love it.

I am going to go home for lunch and eat leftover turkey now....we cooked a 13 pounder last night. Deep. Fried. Goodness. Seriously, if you ever get the chance to try deep fried turkey, you should take it. I know it sounds weird, I was scared at first....I thought it was going to be greasy and oily and nasty. I was so wrong. That was about 6 years ago, and my mother has never made a baked/roasted turkey since. Deep fried is the way to go; you'll never taste a juicier turkey.
For those of you counting, this is dog-picture-free post numero dos. Even though I have some REALLY cute pics of Sampson I took yesterday that I am DYING to share. I am not giving in.
